Our People

Busy Blue Bus employs over 80 people between our 2 depots in Albany and Esperance, as well as regional school bus drivers. We pride ourselves on our team’s attention to detail, reliability, flexibility and customer service. Through local knowledge, experience, enthusiasm and energy, our team strive to deliver our promise that ‘we’ll show you more!’

With the expansion of Busy Blue Bus, James is now more often than not, driving a curser across a screen of figures than the steering wheel of a bus, but still enjoys engagement with customers big and small. He enjoys flying his RV6 to visit drivers on school bus runs and to the Esperance depot. He plays tennis and hockey, and loves watching his two adult sons play hockey. Oh, and he also gets to the beach with wife Susan!

Susan is the creative force behind the Busy Blue Bus brand. With an education background, Susan has been instrumental in developing the new tour direction for the business and recognises the role that Busy Blue Bus plays in developing Albany’s tourism industry. She loves swimming at Albany’s beaches, walking the region’s bush tracks and trails, kayaking its rivers and climbing its granite outcrops; when she is not in the garden.

Michael has chosen the Amazing South Coast to raise his family. He brings management expertise and professionalism to his role, along with a positive approach and sense of humour. As Operations Manager, he also oversees fleet scheduling, does the tricky itinerary quotes and oversees movement at the port for cruise ships visits and keeps open dialogue with suppliers.

Rebecca manages tour bookings and scheduling. She has grown with our business and has extensive knowledge of our fleet, products and services. She is outrageously well-organised, diligent and efficient. We love her giggles and conversations with her computer screen! She plays soccer and loves to take her dogs for romps at the beach.

Shane was born and raised in the Great Southern. From farm to manager at Maitraya and now Service Manager at Busy Blue Bus. He never stops moving! Constantly on the run, he bounds around on long legs to keep the fleet of buses clean and maintained to the Busy Blue Bus impeccable standards. Safety is his priority and he strives to ensure that your bus is wellpresented and in top-notch order for your convenience. He plays hockey with James in the Spencer Park Vets and is proud Dad to a lovely quartet of daughters.

Di is at the front desk at the Esperance depot where her efficient office organisation and management is beneficial to Ken and all the drivers. A former bus driver and contract owner, with a long connection to the Esperance region, she brings a great deal of wisdom to her administrative role.

Helen is our satellite employee working, variously from home and or the depots in Albany and Esperance, as our HSEQ Officer and School Bus Services Manager. She occasionally drives one of our School bus runs. Her other responsibilities at Busy Blue Bus are keeping the books in order and ensuring our employees are paid on time! In her other life, she is an Ambulance Officer and contributes to the Borden Bulletin. Truly a country girl, she loves her independence and thrives on the diverse life she leads.

A long-standing resident of Esperance and well-versed in fleet management Ken is the backbone of the Esperance depot activities. He has expertise and understanding of the region’s sights and landscape. Considered, quiet and conscientious, he has proven himself invaluable. Independently he manages School and Town Bus Services in Esperance, as well as charter operations.
