Bus Wardens – ESPERANCE WA

The Role

As Bus Warden you will be expected  to work hard to ensure the interaction you have with parents, students, school staff and colleagues is a positive one. Busy Blue Bus promotes an enthusiastic and dynamic workplace and expect you to deliver exemplary customer service, while maintaining a professional, cheerful, efficient and safe environment for all.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

You will need to have the following qualifications;

  • Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current Police Clearance

You will be expected to:

  • Conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner to students, drivers, bus aides, parents/carers and school staff.
  • Provide direction and instructions to students at bus loading/transfer locations to ensure their safety and meeting their connections.
  • Ensure all communication with drivers is clear, concise and courteous.
  • Monitor and evaluate procedures and implement processes for improvement.
  • Provide support and follow procedures when children fail to meet their connections.
  • Report information to schools, parents and Administration Coordinator when required.
  • Maintain a neat, clean personal appearance and wear protective clothing as supplied with shoes or boots and socks where appropriate.

Skills and Experience

  • Present yourself in a friendly, confident and professional manner when dealing with students, parents, school administrators and other Busy Blue Bus staff.
  • Maintain exemplary time management skills.
  • Seek guidance if circumstances arise which are unfamiliar and an appropriate action is unclear.
  • Promote Busy Blue Bus in a vibrant and positive manner.

The Role

As an Esperance Town Bus Driver, you will provide students that reside within the Esperance townsite safe, reliable transport to and from school.  You will be responsible for a clean bus, safe and courteous driving practices and positive interactions with students, wardens,  school staff, parents and other road users. You will be required to adhere to routines and procedures, be accountable for your actions and the information you provide.

    Ensure that while in charge of the vehicle, you adhere to all road rules, drive to the road conditions and that you remain courteous to other road users. The safety of yourself and others is paramount at all times.

    Attention to detail, knowing your vehicle and following procedures for pre-start checks, maintenance, servicing and cleaning ensures small problems are detected before they become major mechanical failures.

    Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner to ensure assistance and information is provided to other sectors of Busy Blue Bus to meet required reporting, outcomes and targets within assigned timelines.

    Adhere to and understand  Occupational Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

    To ensure synergy in the workplace and with clients, good communication, respect and consideration for your students, parents, school staff, colleagues and management is a requirement. Diesel Mechanic – ESPERANCE WA

The Role

As the Busy Blue Bus Fleet Mechanic, you will be required to perform maintenance, diagnosis and repairs on the Busy Blue Bus Esperance fleet, in a safe, efficient and quality minded manner. Adhering to maintenance schedules to ensure vehicles are in excellent working order at all times; to minimise costs, maximise efficiencies and reduce unexpected major repairs and vehicle downtime.

Duties and Responsibilities

Vehicles – Breakdowns

Perform repair work on vehicles from the equipped workshop or emergency roadside repairs such as; maintenance, breakdowns and malfunctions, safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

Vehicles – Maintenance

Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing to the manufacturer’s guidelines to maximise the safety, reliability and productivity of the fleet.

Workshop Equipment

Inspect, maintain and repair workshop equipment to ensure the safety and reliability of the equipment and workspace.  Adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety guidelines to maximise workshop organisation, presentation and safety.

Workshop Occupational Health & Safety

Be responsible for workshop health, safety, security, welfare, environmental and fire safety arrangements for yourself and colleagues at all times. This will include attendance at safety briefings and training as required.

Skills and Experience

  1. Have the appropriate licences and ability to drive all vehicles in the fleet to a competent and safe standard to assess and ensure mechanical soundness.
  2. Exceptional communication skills to liaise and work harmoniously and enthusiastically within the Esperance Team.
  3. Capacity for initiative, demonstrating analytical thinking to address work-related issues.
  4. Ability to work unsupervised, prioritise workloads and utilise efficient time management skills and remain calm under pressure.
  5. Honesty and integrity.
  6. Have the physical capability to carry out the role.
